Old Woman

The girl went by underground late at night after grandiose Halloween party. Suddenly she has noticed that the woman sitting opposite, steadfastly looks at her. That woman was sitting between two old men. The girl looked at the window and when has turned back, she saw that the woman didn’t take away the stare from her. It frightened the girl. “Too much of wonders for today” she thought. 

When the train has stopped at the following stop, a tall man in a grey raincoat has come into the car. He sat down near the girl. The woman didn’t pay attention to the man in a raincoat. She only looked at the girl who felt terrible from this gaze. And two old men did not look at her side at all. She pretended that does not notice an oddity and clear thought appeared in her head, - “It’s pumpkin punch’s fault”, and however a strange feeling of alarm did not leave her.

When the train has stopped at the following stop, the man in a raincoat got up to leave. Unexpectedly, he strongly seized a hand of the girl and when the doors opened, he pulled her from a train. The train left, the girl stood rigid on a platform, near was the man in a raincoat. The girl started to call for help...

"Calm down", the man told her. "I have just saved your life. I don’t want to frighten you, but I should take away you from a train. The woman sitting opposite you was dead, and those two, who were near – held her".

Interview with Evgeniya Titorenko

Who are you?

Hello! My name is Evgeniya Titorenko. Nice to meet you Svetlana. I’m going to tell you about my self with pleasure. I’m a student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and I'm proud of it!

I learn 2 languages. I think that nowadays it is very important to know foreign languages, namely English, it's an international language. I have a dream to visit all the English-speaking countries and see the sights with my own eyes that we studied in the practical course of English.

How did you learn English?

I started to learn English at school. From the beginning I had problems with language. I was afraid to speak and pronounce the words. English teacher even called my mom to school))) I even couldn’t think that I will study at the faculty of foreign languages. Over time I started talking and it was a success! And here I am, at the Department of English! I don’t  regret that I’ve came here. Studying is  hard, tiring, but damn interesting! Studying is hard, because you should know not only English itself, but also think in English, but trust me this thing is complicated! The key to success in learning English - learn to think like an Englishman, and everything will be ok =)))

What has English given you?

English gave me a world without borders. In any country, I would not go out, everywhere I’ll be understood, because I speak English. English - it's a prestige, knowledge, movement in step with the times.

Career or Family

According to supervision of sociologists, unmarried careerists appear more in twice than family people. And the most terrible thing is that among unmarried businessmen, almost 70 % are women, who have the role of home keepers and mothers.
Someone asserts that it’s impossible to combine career and family: it’s impossible to do the work on a half or partly love your family. However, I consider that there is no special dilemma. A really successful person should be such in the all aspects. The way out is possible.
For example, you have the strong loving family. So, you have no fears. Discuss with the close people, what victims will be demanded from them, for example, with your new promotion. But at the same time also depict what possibilities will open with the increase of your salary.
If a career of one of the spouses became the reason of family quarrels, the first you need to do — not to create conflicts! Wisdom – the main decision in such problem. It’s not necessary to take offence, if your pair has forgotten about your family holiday. It’s because of weariness. The best decision for you – is to find some hobby and to distract.
If the one of the spouses — is a careerist, don’t disturb him or her. After all, he isn’t an alcoholic or addict. Accept the person such what he is. Yes, your couple seldom stays at home, is constantly busy, but earlier you knew, with whom your life to connect. Don’t be selfish — allow him to realize himself! It’s impossible to remake him any more. If you’re quiet person – supplement each other.
Don’t put yourself before nonexistent dilemma «career or family», solve, what exactly you want. Place your priorities. Because sometimes, appearing under the social pressure, we lose simple human happiness and we do not notice a sunny day any more, we do not see a smile of a child and we do not feel any pleasure from a career victory.
You should find golden mean: whenever possible to get up in the morning with pleasure for work, and after work with the same pleasure to go home. But life is rather difficult, and not always our dreams come true… But after all, we have aspiration for better!
